I bought some bourbon vanilla beans from beanilla.com and they arrived today! I followed Clotilde's formula for homemade vanilla extract. Now I just have to wait 8 weeks (at least) until I can start using it.

I used a 12oz jar, 3 vanilla beans (cut in half to fit), and light rum.
